Hiroshi Sugimoto is born in Tokyo, Japan, on February 23, 1948.
In 1970 he graduated in politics and sociology at Saint Paul’s University, Tokyo and four years later he obtained a degree in Fine Arts at the Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles. The same year he moved to New York, were he actually lives and works.
He is an highly appreciate photograph, that uses to organize his work in different series (Dioramas, Portraits, Theatres, Seascapes, Architecture, Lightning Fields…).A complete biography can be found on the artist’s website www.sugimotohiroshi.com
